Bio

Educated from coast to coast, Steve brings his knowledge of music and recording to Pressure Point after studying audio engineering at the Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences in Arizona and Music Theory and Composition at Berklee College of Music in Boston. With his versatile musical interests and tenacious music background Steve refined and enhanced his own innovative recording techniques as assistant to Larry Sturm.
 
Not only a DigiDesign certified Pro-Tools engineer, Steve is committed to preserving the art of analog recording and jumps at the chance to track to tape with any project. Attention to details such as drum tuning, tape calibration techniques, intonation, timing and performance are the keys to successful projects and part of Steve’s session routine.
 
With experience on both sides of the glass, Steve brings his perspective as a musician and aptitude as an engineer to clients ensuring a well engineered project. Creativity and ingenuity continue from tracking into the mixing process where clients can hear their conceptions come to life. His musical influences are strongly rooted, yet not limited to rock and blues. Steve has experience engineering rap, hip hop, gospel, country, and jazz. Clients he had the pleasure of working with thus far are Toots and the Maytals, Michelle Williams, Avant, Jojo, Paula De Anda, members of Tortoise, Chamillionare, and Mike Phillips.
